KCRH collaborated with the building architect to conceptualize alternative site plans at the earliest stages of development. This exploration led to the realization that maximizing the front yard — with its ideal sun orientation, preferred views, and existing privacy screening — should be the primary site design goal. The final house plan responds to this arrangement through its strong indoor/outdoor relationship, with an infinity pool extending out across the south-facing slope. Peripheral patio and dining spaces flank the pool, maximizing opportunities for play and entertainment. In the smaller back yard, a covered porch roof protects the family lounge and dining area.
